We’ll give credit where it’s due – the Ruby Slots welcome promotion is excellent. New players who are willing to deposit £30 or more upon joining are rewarded with a 250% matched deposit with a maximum value of £1000, accompanied by twenty-five free spins. The bonus cash can only be used on slots or keno, but it would be considered a generous offer even if it only came with average wagering requirements. Ruby Slots can do better than that, though – the funds only have to be wagered once before they’re eligible to be withdrawn. The casino must surely lose money on the deal, but it’s very player-friendly. Almost suspiciously so, in fact.

Ongoing Promotions

We’d like to think that Ruby Slots sticks to the same spirit of generosity with the rest of its promotions, but it’s impossible to know because the casino is so imprecise about them. The information on the Promotions page is very vague, mentioning a VIP program but providing virtually no information about it. There are also bonus codes given for 100%, 160% and 200% matched deposit bonuses, with the page claiming that the codes can be used as many times as a player likes. If that’s the case, why would anyone ever opt for anything other than the 200% matched deposit? Perhaps it has something to do with the terms and conditions, but given that no terms and conditions are given, it remains a mystery.

What are the Pros and Cons of Ruby Slots?

Pros: That welcome bonus is going to take some beating. Offering a 250% boost up to a grand and then only asking for it to be wagered once is tantamount to giving money away, and you don’t see many casinos doing that on account of it being a terrible business model. In this instance, perhaps it’s better not to look the gift horse in the mouth.

Cons: The wording of the other bonuses makes it hard to know what else the casino offers, let alone whether there’s any value to be had. Withdrawals take an average of a week to arrive, which is much too slow when you’re handling cryptocurrency transactions. The portfolio of slots and games is very limited, and it takes 48 hours to get a response to support requests.

We’ve touched on this topic already. There are four ways to get a withdrawal from Ruby Slots – Bitcoin, bank transfer, cheque, or Coindraw. Coindraw is the only method that might get you fast money, with turnaround times quoted as between zero and seven days. That’s a pretty wide payment window, but it’s the best the casino can do. All three of the other methods will take at least seven days, and could take up to ten. There’s no good reason why a Bitcoin withdrawal should take that long. You’re also looking at a minimum withdrawal limit of £100 for cheque and bank transfer, or £50 for the other methods.

Customer Support and License

On its “Contact Us” page, Ruby Slots makes a couple of bold claims. One is that the casino has the most committed customer care team in the business. Another is that this very committed team is on hand 24/7 to help with queries. Neither of those claims are true. The reality is that the only way to contact Ruby Slots is by emailing help@rubyslots.com, and that responses might take up to 48 hours to arrive. That’s definitely not a 24/7 service, and nor is it very committed.

The last time we reviewed Ruby Slots, it didn’t have an iGaming licence at all. We’re pleased to note that it now has one, even if it’s a very minor one. Both Ruby Slots and the Ruby Slots sister sites are covered by the licence that Primrose Media Limited holds in the State of Anjouan.

Ruby Slots – The Verdict

Ruby Slots is probably popular in places where access to online casinos isn’t great. That includes the United States of America, which is a key market for the casino despite the fact that it breaks the law in most states by operating there. The welcome promotion is extraordinarily good if it does what it claims to do, but the lack of information about the rest of the bonuses and the casino’s general lack of iGaming content make it a below-average casino in our eyes. The UK marketplace certainly isn’t missing out on anything special, and we don’t think the casino has really come on in any meaningful way since it changed networks.
