Unless you happened to know in advance or have an eagle eye for the small print at the bottom of the homepage, you’d never know that Dream Bingo was made by Betway Limited or that it had any connection whatsoever with the world-famous sports betting brand. Betway Limited is, after all, best known for being the casino network company behind Betway. Very few people know there are any Betway sister sites that don’t share the parent company’s brand. Fewer people still actually play at any such sites. The more-than-drab appearance of Dream Bingo is unlikely to win over anybody who might be on the fence about doing so.
We won’t beat around the bush, because Dream Bingo looks like it’s been dragged through one – and you wouldn’t mind betting that it had been hit by a bus before it ended up in there. It’s an outright ugly casino site with a clumsy user interface – doubly so if you’re trying to use the casino on a laptop rather than a mobile device. It’s a long way from the aesthetic standards of Betway. This problem isn’t universal across the Betway sister sites – more on that in a moment – so it’s hard to say why Dream Bingo has been allowed to persist in such a state. It’s also hard to say why there isn’t more bingo to play with at Dream Bingo. The casino leads with its collection of new slots, after which it dives into its older slots and then its jackpot slots before showing off its Slingo games. It’s only then, almost reluctantly, that it finally shows you what it has to offer in terms of bingo. There’s nothing wrong with the collection, so we don’t know why Dream Bingo doesn’t make a bigger feature of it.
Some of you are as knowledgeable about real-world gambling venues as you are about online casinos. If you’re one of those people, you’ll already know what The Hippodrome is. It’s one of the biggest casinos in Leicester Square in London, and it’s famous all over the world. The Hippodrome Online (or just Hippodrome Online) is its official online presence. That easily makes it the most famous of the Betway sister sites and explains why it’s the one we’ve chosen to focus on here. There are a few other Betway sister sites on the operator’s platform, but none of them can hold a candle to Hippodrome Online. Even including Dream Bingo was a bit of a stretch in the popularity stakes.
Hippodrome Online does its level best to replicate the feeling of playing at the London venue in real life. It’s not entirely successful in that aim, but that’s not for want of trying. The casino’s aesthetic is slightly hampered by the fact that it’s been forced to use the same template as Dream Bingo, although it’s done a far better job of dressing the template up. The overall number of games is still fairly low at (approximately) 450, but the focus on Live Casino games at the site is strong and partially makes up for the lack of variety. You’ll even find a few live casino games that are exclusive to the site because they’re broadcast live from The Hippodrome itself. It’s a real boon for Betway Limited that the company was chosen to partner with the casino – it’s a prestigious one, and its iGaming site isn’t at all bad.

Betway operator – Betway Limited
Betway Limited, best known for its ubiquitous Betway sports betting brand, is a massive company in the iGaming sphere. Such is its size and reputation that it’s tempting to believe that the company has been around forever, but that isn’t the case. In fact, Betway didn’t exist at all until 2006., It hit the ground running, and over the years since then, the company has opened offices in South Africa, Malta, London, Guernsey and Malta, picking up multiple iGaming licences in the process. To add to the company’s credibility, it’s a member of both the Independent Betting Adjudication Service and the European Sports Security Association. This is a company that wants to be taken seriously. From an organisational point of view, Betway is a subsidiary of a much larger (but far quieter) holding company known simply as “Super Group,” which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
Betway has a habit of making headlines, both for good reasons and bad. Its big-money sponsorships of sports teams and clubs – most notably West Ham United -have garnered the company plenty of attention, as did the fact that it paid out a world-record jackpot of £13m to a lucky jackpot winner in the UK in October 2015 when the player won big on Microgaming’s legendary Mega Moolah slots game. The record stood until 2019. Unfortunately, that isn’t the only record that Betway has ever held or broken. In March 2020, Betway was fined a record £11.6m by the UK Gambling Commission for serious failings regarding customer protection measures for big spenders, in one case allowing a single customer to lose £4m betting at the site in just four years. It should be noted that Betway has endeavoured to clean its act up since then, including disbanding its entire VIP department, but mud has a habit of sticking.
Betway Sister Sites Welcome Bonuses
Betway isn’t so much a casino or betting site as it is a gateway to multiple casinos and betting sites, all of which share Betway’s name and branding. That means there are multiple welcome promotions available, and the one you’ll be most interested in will depend on what you’re most interested in doing at the site. Here’s a brief overview.
The welcome promotion that’s given the most prominence at Betway – at the time of writing, at least – is a £30 matched free bet that’s handed to you in the event that your first accumulator bet at Betway turns out to be a loser. You’ll also receive fifty free spins to use in Betway Casino as a consolation prize. There aren’t any wagering requirements on the free bet, but winnings from the bonus spins come with a somewhat unfriendly x50 wagering requirement. It’s not a bad promotion if you ignore the fact that you have to lose your first bet before you get it.
If you’re interested in sports betting but you’d rather take a more conventional route to getting free bets, you can claim a £10 free bet just by registering and making a deposit of £10. This £10 free bet comes with an x1 wagering requirement before it can be withdrawn (assuming you win) and expires seven days after the qualifying deposit is made. A variation of this same promotion can also be used to bet on e-sports.
Those of you who want to play at Betway Casino rather than bet on sports can get up to £50 as a welcome bonus. It’s a matched deposit bonus, with the match rate set at 100%. Again, though, you’ll be dealing with an x50 wagering requirement on the bonus pot, and there’s a convincing argument which says that x50 is too high to be considered reasonable. This bonus can be used on either slots or in the Betway live casino. It can even be used in Betway Vegas if that’s your particular niche.
From the above, it’s clear that Betway’s promotions are heavily weighted towards new customers. It’s harder to say what the long-term picture with promotions is because the Betway website is a little vague about it. As you venture into the Betway sister sites (which are, in practice, more like Betway minisites), you may see specific promotions pop up from time to time. Clicking on the “promotions” tab, though, simply takes you to the sportsbook page and presents you with a pop-up informing you that “cash prizes, free bets and bonus spins” are available as part of a “wide range” of promotions that Betway lays on for its customers. There doesn’t appear to be a loyalty program, though, and that’s a surprise when you consider the size of the Betway brand.
Top Games at Betway
It’s very, very hard to say what the best or top games at Betway are because the site is so enormous. In some ways, you could say that there aren’t any top games at the site at all because Betway is best known for sports betting. Betting on sports is the reason that the majority of Betway’s customers come to the site, and sports are what the brand is best associated with. That much is evident from its numerous football sponsorships, which have, in the past, included Premier League football shirt sponsorships. Even now, the official Betway brand ambassador is former Tottenham and Ireland star, Robbie Keane. If you’re looking for a great sportsbook, you can rest assured that you’ll find one at Betway.
There are exceptions to the above statement. Some people come to Betway to play slots and casino games rather than bet on sports. If you’re one of them, you’ll find that the Betway Casino offers every form of slots, live dealer and game show entertainment you can think of. The top slots at the site are a mix of brand-new releases and classics from the recent past. 9 Masks of Fire and 9 Pots of Gold – both from Gameburger Studios and both basically the same game with a different theme – are listed as the number one and number two slots inside Betway Casino, followed by the likes of Gold Blitz from Fortune Factory Studios, which has more bonuses than you can shake a very large stick at. The casino also includes a smattering of its top table games (including, for some reason, a roulette version of 9 Pots of Gold) in its “top games” section as a showcase of the portfolio’s variety and depth.
Customer Support and Licensing
Betway makes you go around the houses to get customer support. First, you have to click the “support” button. Then, you have to scroll to the bottom of the FAQ and select “I have another query.” Even that isn’t enough, as you have to answer “yes” to the question, “Do you need more help?” at which point you’ll finally see a live chat option. The live chat option only works if you’re logged in, so we’re really not sure what customers with login issues are supposed to do. Betway Limited holds UK Gambling Commission licence no. 39372. In September 2022, Betway was ordered to pay a fine of £408,915 for breaches of its licence in relation to marketing and social responsibility. The company was earlier (in 2020) fined £11.6m for serious failures relating to its handling of high-spending customers.
Withdrawal Speed and Support
We’re pleased to say that Betway is fairly quick at getting money to customers so long as everything is approved and above board. If you’re using a “web wallet” (which is what the company calls e-wallets), you might have your cash in as little as two hours and shouldn’t be waiting any more than twenty-four hours. Betway doesn’t specify which wallets it does or doesn’t accept, but we assume that PayPal is supported as a bare minimum. If you’d rather withdraw to your debit card or directly to your bank account, you’ll be waiting between one and two business days.
Final Thoughts on Betway
As we said at the start of this review, Betway isn’t so much a single iGaming site as it is a collection of Betway sister sites all gathered together under the Betway banner. You can bet on almost anything here, from Slingo to softball, and it’s all laid out in a convenient, easy-to-use format. For all the site’s positive qualities, though, we’re baffled as to why there isn’t a better standard of customer support available. Players who don’t have access to their accounts will struggle to get hold of any assistance whatsoever.

Something isn’t right about Betway. I’ve never had a single win on the daily spin wheel, and someone on live chat told me that I’m restricted from winning prizes. If that doesn’t say “fix,” I don’t know what does.Maria, April 11th 2023. Source – Trustpilot.
I can’t get through to anybody about problems I’m having with my account. I’ve been waiting for hours on live chat, but there’s never anybody there. Kyle, April 11th 2023. Source – Trustpilot.
All Betway does is take your money. I’ve made deposits which have left my account but were never credited to my Betway account. For eight months now, they’ve been telling me the transaction failed. The money never showed up back in my account, so where did it go? Stay away from this platform.Kunal, April 10th 2023. Source – Trustpilot.
I’ve been trying to contact Betway via live chat. My queue number was 52 when I joined. I waited for five hours, and then I was just cut off. I’m trying to get my account verified.Loki, April 10th 2023. Source – Trustpilot.
