Casimba is one of the longest-tenured White Hat Gaming casinos, and by the start of 2024, the site had started to look old. How fortunate we are, then, that its operators recognised the issue and gave the site a clear relaunch. It still stays well clear of the Disney connection it implies with the “Simba” part of its name, but the new safari theme looks fantastic. It’s often said that a change is as good as a rest, but has anything changed at Casimba save for the fresh coat of paint? Let’s review it again and find out.

Casimba Welcome Offers

Casimba stays close to the approach of many of the Casimba sister sites when it comes to its welcome promotion. It offers a 100% matched deposit on any amount between £20 and £100, giving the promotion a maximum value of £200. Fifty bonus spins are packaged with the promotion but can only be used on selected slots. The bonus funds, plus anything a player might win from free spins, are tied to an x35 wagering requirement. That’s reasonable in the context of wagering requirements applied on other casino networks. There’s another £50 available as a 50% matched second deposit if you like what your first deposit got you.

Ongoing Promotions

Casimba Casino operates a loyalty program – and players start picking up loyalty points from the moment they make their first deposit. In addition to the other benefits of the welcome promotion that we outlined above, players receive five hundred loyalty points when they register. What are the Pros and Cons of Casimba Casino?

Pros: Casimba offers more than one thousand slots drawn from more than one hundred providers. The range is excellent. The welcome offer is strong and fair and represents real value to new players. 

Cons: The Casimba loyalty scheme doesn’t actually offer much in the way of rewards. A return of £5 for every £500 wagered isn’t much of a way to thank players for spending considerable sums of money. There is no FAQ on the Casimba Casino website, nor any information about how long withdrawals might take to process. This is a surprising and disappointing oversight.

Customer support at Casimba is a mixed bag. Live chat ought to be available at all times, and there’s an email address if you’d rather be more formal about the way you contact the site, but there isn’t a telephone number and nor is there an FAQ section. A good FAQ section can often remove the need for customers to contact support, so it’s bizarre that Casimba doesn’t have one. The parent company is very successful but usually follows a template when it takes a casino brand under management. That template doesn’t involve putting the casino brand on television, so that makes Casimba both lucky and unusual. Casimba Casino has been advertised on television in the past. It happened two years ago, and only one commercial was ever made, but it still counts.

2019 is recent enough for some of you to be able to remember the commercial immediately but if you don’t, let’s see if we can refresh your memories. It’s thirty seconds long and starts with a well-dressed man trying to catch a bus in London. He runs as fast as he can but misses two buses, but catches the third after turning into a lion and making a lunge for it. Then, to the shock of everybody else on the bus, he morphs back into a man in a business suit before their very eyes and then whips his phone out of his pocket to start playing games at the Casimba website. All of this is deeply surreal – and that’s the whole point. A surreal advert is more likely to stick in your memory than a plain and simple one that does nothing other than tell you basic information about a casino. That being said, the transformation into a lion isn’t quite as random as you might think it is at first glance. Let’s explore that thought a little further.

Who Put The Simba In Casimba?

There’s a lion in the logo of the Casimba Casino, and it’s not a random choice of mascot animal. “Simba,” in the language of the Swahili people, means “lion.” You might think you’ve heard the word somewhere before. We’re sure you have. Think back to your childhood, and you’ll remember that Simba is the main character in the classic Disney movie “The Lion King.”

The character of Simba has appeared in three “Lion King” movies, books, spin-offs, Disney cartoons, video games, and as a character in Disney’s multiple theme parks. He might not be Aladdin or Mickey Mouse, but he’s one of Disney’s most memorable and instantly-recognisable characters. The best thing about all of this for the owners of Casimba Casino is that they don’t need to have a license from Disney to use the word “simba” and a lion character for their casino brand. Disney doesn’t own the term or the concept of associating it with a lion, so with the creation of Casimba Casino, White Hat Gaming has found a way to harness some of that brand awareness and use it to draw people to their brand. Shutting Down Communications

As a brand, Casimba Casino used to be a lot louder than it is now. Not only did it have its bespoke television commercial, but it also had a YouTube channel to go with it. The least we’d expect any online casino brand to have in the 2020s is a Twitter and Facebook account, but Casimba has only one of those things. It’s like the company has decided to scale back its advertising budget in the past two years.

The only thing on the Casimba YouTube channel is the television commercial. Nothing has been posted since, and the video has a little over five thousand views. The Twitter account, which was opened in October 2017, hasn’t posted anything since February 2020. It has fewer than fifty followers. Casimba has an Instagram account with an audience of just under four hundred but has posted on it just once since November 2020. It has no Facebook presence whatsoever. We don’t know why we hear from Casimba so much less than we used to. Perhaps they’re happy with their current level of custom and brand awareness and don’t have any great business need to push for more.

Media Recognition of Casimba Casino

While paying for press coverage and advertising is sometimes a necessary part of being in the casino business, it’s always much more gratifying when a publication notices you and talks about you without sending you an invoice once they’re done. We’ve seen that happen twice in recent times for Casimba. The first was in July 2018, which is when the Irish Post ran a lengthy article about the growth of the internet-based gambling scene in Ireland.
