Party Casino makes for a great alternative Casumo sister site because it offers the same combination of casino products that Casumo does. The complaints are coming in thick and fast, and they’re all singing the same out-of-tune chorus. One player claimed they couldn’t withdraw their funds because their hospital bill apparently didn’t count as proof of address, which does raise a few questions about consistency. Another flagged a clause buried in the terms and conditions that supposedly says ID checks need to be done before deposits are even allowed. If that’s true and they’ve skipped a few steps, they could have a bigger mess on their hands than just a few angry reviews. Casumo’s been called out for making deposits a breeze but putting withdrawal hurdles in place that slow players down just enough to tempt them into spinning their balance away while they wait. Manipulative? Some people think so. Legal? That’s one for the regulators to untangle.

There were also gripes about gameplay that felt completely dead on arrival. Nolimit City’s latest slot seems like what you’d get if a B-movie director ran wild with a bag of features and a soft spot for dusty saloons and undead gunslingers. You’ve got a 5×3 layout with 243 fixed win ways, but let’s not pretend it plays like your usual cowboy caper. Every spin feels like it’s sizing you up before deciding whether to throw you a win or chew through your balance like jerky.

Casumo’s motto is, “Your new favourite casino.” Player reviews on Trustpilot suggest the motto might not be well-chosen. Reviews at places like that can occasionally be a little salty, though, as casino players tend only to leave reviews when they’re unhappy with something. Generally, it’s because they’ve lost money. Is there something to those reviews, or does Casumo still pack enough charm over a decade after its launch to attract new players and hang on to those it has? We’ll get to the bottom of that question by reviewing the casino.

Casumo Welcome Bonus

Casumo’s welcome offer is a comparatively good one. New players who choose to opt into the offer will receive a 100% matched deposit the first time they credit their Casumo account, subject to a maximum of £100 in bonus funds. They’ll also receive fifty free spins on the always-popular Big Bass Bonanza slot from Reel Kingdom. Both the free spins and the bonus funds come with an x30 wagering requirement, which is roughly in line with the average across the UK online slots scene, if not a little better. You can also get fifty per cent of your first sports bet back up to a maximum of £25, but only if the bet loses.

Ongoing Promotions

The top ongoing promotion at Casumo is called “The Adventure,” and is effectively a loyalty scheme. The idea is that every time a player bets on a sport or places a wager in the casino, they earn points. As they build up points, they receive wager-free bonuses in line with the number of points they’ve accrued. This could be a fantastic offer, but sadly Casumo doesn’t tell us enough about the play-to-points ratio to work out whether it offers real value for money or not. It’s all too vague.

The other promotions you might come across at Casumo Casino are likely to be seasonal. We wrote this review in March, and there was something of a spring theme to the promotions including free spins on Mondays, more free spins on Thursdays, and small daily promos. The nature of those daily promos changes from day to day. While these promotions will vanish at the end of March, we imagine something similar will be along to replace them in April, and so the cycle will continue. That being said, the changing nature of the bonuses means that it’s always worth checking the promotions page if you haven’t logged in for a while.

What are the Pros and Cons of Casumo Casino?

Pros: The games portfolio at Casumo is the casino’s biggest positive point. 3500 is a big number, and we’re not just talking about any old 3500 casino games. Casumo works with only the best providers, so you can be sure that the best work of the best designers in the business is right there in the Casumo games library. We like the design of the casino website, too. It makes intelligent use of white space, and it’s super easy to find your way around it.

Cons: Many of the complaints about Casumo at Trustpilot are about either long waits for withdrawals or poor customer service. We can see why. There’s no telephone-based customer service available, and the wording of the casino’s withdrawal process is vague. Speaking of vague, we have no idea how the “Adventure” loyalty scheme really works.

Featured Games and Slots

With more than three-and-a-half thousand slots and games to consider, players at Casumo at least won’t be bored while they’re waiting for their withdrawals to reach them. What’s amazing about the online slots section of the casino is that despite the massive range of options, it’s the same old slots that have risen to the top. The most popular online slots at Casumo Casino are likely to be very familiar to you – and if they aren’t, it’s probably high time you gave them a try. 

Wolf Gold: This is a controversial statement, but Wolf Gold is hands-down the best thing Pragmatic Play has ever done. Yes, we include all of their Drops and Wins games in that statement. They struck gold when they released this North American canyon-themed classic in 2018 and broke the mould in the process. Mustang Gold was a fine attempt to follow it up, but it couldn’t recapture the unique charm of Wolf Gold. If you’ve never played it before, all we can tell you is that you’ll be howling at the moon just as surely as any wolf would if you will every position with full moon symbols during the respins feature. 

Big Bass Bonanza: Big Bass Bonanza is a Fishin’ Frenzy clone. It just happens to be more popular than all of the other Fishin’ Frenzy clones because it was one of the first to be released, and it’s an especially well-made one because it was produced by the expert hands of Reel Kingdom. Like almost all of the fish-themed slots that have come out in the past few years, Big Bass Bonanza is a Cash Collector slot that’s at its best when you’ve landed money symbols and collect symbols on the same spin. To fit in with the theme, the money symbols in this slot are represented by fish, and the collect symbol is a fisherman. The slot is thought of as being volatile, which makes it all the more of a shame that the max win is only x2100 against your stake.

Chilli Xtreme 4 Ways Boost: This is a far more modern slot than the other two we’ve looked at from Casumo’s “featured” section, and it comes from Playtech. When Playtech decides that it’s going to back a slots game with features, it generally goes all-in. It’s certainly done so here. The well-realised Mexican theme is merely a backdrop to a slot that can expand its reels so far that at its peak, it offers 262,144 ways to win. Random wilds might turn up on any spin, and some of them explode and create more wilds in the process. There’s always something happening in this slot, but the RTP is horribly low at 93.96%. 

As we mentioned when we were discussing alternative Casumo sister sites, there’s also a full sportsbook at Casumo, along with an equally impressive live casino. You can’t play bingo here, but pretty much everything else is catered for. 

Withdrawal Processing & Support

When Casumo moved to Recro Limited from its former operator, it revamped its withdrawal process. That’s a good thing, because the old one was terrible. However, the process is still a little imprecise. Based on the limited information available, we believe that the approved withdrawal methods are Debit cards, various e-wallets (including MuchBetter, Neteller and Skrill, but not including PayPal), and Apple Pay. The casino tells us that most withdrawals are processed in a few hours, but that further delays might apply in some circumstances. Things are better than they used to be at Casumo in respect of this, but there’s still room for improvement in the clarity of information provided.

Casumo Extends Its  Reading FC Partnership

In August 2021, Reading FC and Casumo extended their long-standing partnership. After the contract was signed, a spokesperson for Reading FC reflected on their time in partnership with the casino brand. He announced that Casumo had gone above and beyond to not only promote the club but to promote equality and inclusivity too.

Casumo’s director of marketing teased the promise of a future transition that would see Casumo Cares becoming a focal point in the sponsorship network. Casumo Cares is a support service for players struggling with gambling addiction. The service can be used by players at any online or land-based casino. Their slogan, “When the Fun Stops, We Are Here to Help”, takes the old idiom “When the Fun Stops, Stop” to a new level, by becoming a place to turn for players who may have developed an unhealthy relationship with gambling.

Through the service, Casumo Cares educates, provides proactive support, keeps minors and vulnerable safeguarded and provides advice on how to help loved ones.

Casumo Speaks to Casino Beats

Phil Manzi, the Director of Marketing at Casumo casino sat down with the reputable casino magazine, Casino Beats, in November 2021 to discuss sponsorships, the increasing numbers of online slots published, and the contemporary challenges faced by European and UK casinos. Manzi highlighted the pitfalls of the over-regular market which is making it harder for gambling brands to find sponsorship space. However, that isn’t something that Casumo has historically had to deal with. For a time, they were the main kit sponsor for Reading FC, but there has been plenty of public noise around casino brands as kit sponsors. A third of all football fans polled in a recent study declared that they wouldn’t buy a football kit with a gambling brand logo. However, Casumo found a clever way around this, with Reading FC, they moved from being a shirt sponsor to being an official partnership.

In the interview, Manzi emphasised the importance of sports sponsorships, but he didn’t evade the responsibility that casino brands should feel when it comes to promoting brands to young and vulnerable sports fans.

The interview proved just how hard the minds behind Casumo work to align their marketing morals with sponsorship opportunities. Judging by his opinion on the integration of the increasing number of online slot games, that integrity carries through to Casumo’s curation of games too.

Manzi acknowledged that the increasing rate of production of new games is slowly but surely impacting the quality of new games. But that isn’t an issue for any Casumo players. With the casino’s commitment to only bringing the best content to UK slot spinners, players won’t risk losing their hard-earned cash on sub-par games. Slotmill Teams Up with Casumo Casino

As we have already discovered, Casumo is incredibly discerning when it comes to choosing which game developers they partner with. With that in mind, it spoke volumes when they signed a licencing agreement with Slotmill in August 2021. This move by the two companies brought the award-winning Relax Gaming titles onto Casumo.

Slotmill titles find a number of ways to set themselves apart from the rest. The most obvious USP is their high-end graphics that achieve a modernist feel without having to copy any other developer that is known for its aesthetic innovation. Once the slots start spinning, players will find user-friendly frameworks that provide max player entertainment and incredible win potential.

The founder of Slotmill, Johan Ohman, had the following to say about their recent partnership:

“The agreement with Casumo is super exciting as it will make the Slotmill games available at another Tier 1 operator. Casumo offers a unique experience which is player focused and it aligns perfectly with the product design philosophy of Slotmill.”

Some of the top online slot games that are set to move across to Casumo from Slotmill include Merlin’s Fortune, Thunder Wheel, Vegas Gold, Lucky Lucifer, Neon Dreams, Outlaws, Star Spell and Vikings Creed.

The Skywind Group Became Part of the Casumo Network

The Skywind Group may not be one of the biggest game developers in the market, but nevertheless, the pioneers have been making waves in the European betting industry. Now, thanks to their partnership with Casumo, Skywind’s content is now available to players in the UK, Germany and Sweden.

Skywind and Casumo signed a deal in the summer of 2021 which saw some of their most popular games becoming fan favourites on the casino. Titles such as Sea of Pearls, Sticky Sevens Megaways and El Paso Gold weren’t just hosted on the Casumo casino website, they were also improved through Casumo’s player engagement strategies. Casumo’s player engagement tools included progressive jackpot pools, and tournaments that all players could enter.

In a press release, a spokesperson for the Skywind Group spoke with delight at the new collaboration, he noted that just like Casumo, Skywind constantly push boundaries to facilitate unique and refreshing gaming experiences for online slot players.

Other networks that partnered with Casumo in recent years include 1X2 Gaming, ORYX Gaming, Playson and the Blueribbon Network. While the casino strengthened their relationship with the unstoppable force, Pragmatic Play and Push Gaming.

2018 – Casumo Free Spins Commercial

Casumo was a little ahead of its time when it released this free spins-themed television commercial in 2018. If you’re a keen video gamer or, more likely, if you have a child, you might be familiar with the enormous popularity of Roblox. If so, you’ll spot an Easter Egg or two in this video. We won’t spoil it for you – you should go and check it out on YouTube. Aside from the Easter egg, the 2018 advert is little more than a digital tour of the casino and its features, along with a strong push of the promotional offers that were available at the time.

2019 – Whenever you want, Wherever you Want

Mobile gaming and the concept of playing while on the move was already well-established by 2019, but Casumo decided to hammer the point home anyway with this transport-themed app. A new version of the Casumo mobile app was released around the same time as the advert, which might explain the choice of theme – although we’re going to be talking about that more in a moment. This ad has a comedic tone, showing people playing live dealer casino games while lying in bed or enjoying premium online slots while on the bus. It’s not a groundbreaking commercial, but it was a memorable one and performed well for the Casumo brand.

2019 – The Casumo App

We told you that we’d be coming back to the Casumo app, and so here we are. Aside from showing off the app in the commercial we mentioned a moment ago, Casumo also released a separate commercial aimed squarely at making people aware of the new app and trying to persuade them to use it. The advert took a “triple S” approach – it promoted the Casumo app as being Speedy, Smooth, and Secure. The app was (and still is) available in both Apple and Android format, and the commercial revisited the “play from anywhere” idea that was explored in the previous commercial. Whether or not both commercials were necessary is debatable, but you can’t have too much promotion.

2019 – Daily Drop Jackpot, Only at Casumo

The “Daily Drop Jackpot” advert that Casumo aired briefly in 2019 is an exercise in simplicity. It lasts for only twenty seconds, but it makes a big impression and uses a stylish cartoon approach to capture the attention of viewers. The advert could afford to get away with being so short because its message is so easy to understand – someone has to win the daily jackpots at Casumo every day, and that “someone” could be you. Even if a player loses, they’re free to try again the next day – which is a point that the short commercial makes more than once during its running time.

2020 – Jackpots like Snowflakes

“Snowflakes” has come to mean something else in the 2020s, but the definition of the word in this late-2020 advert is that jackpots fall so often that they’re like snowflakes falling from the sky on a winter’s morning. It’s not exactly a mental image that gives us a warm glow, so it’s an unusual choice of theme for the commercial. If you’re able to shake off the weirdness of the theme, you’ll eventually come to understand that the advert is there to tell you that Casumo has a new dedicated “jackpots” section and every game inside the section comes with a massive, potentially life-changing jackpot.
