You won’t find BetTom listed as a Bet Ahoy sister site if you check the UK Gambling Commission’s register, but this is one of those rare occasions where the register doesn’t tell you the whole story. The two brands might not share the same licence, but they share the same ownership. BetTom was created by Tom Head, son of Julian Head, the founder of Goodwin Racing, which you’ll know better as BetGoodwin. The same family also controls Bet Ahoy Ltd. Each brand has its own licence, but the people running them share the same bloodline. Some of them even live in the same house. BetTom launched in 2025, and is considered a strong back-to-basics bookie which gets on with the serious business of providing a deep sportsbook without adding too many bells and whistles to it. It’s a brand of substance over style.
BetGoodwin
If you’ve read the paragraph above, you already know why we’ve listed BetGoodwin as one of the Bet Ahoy sister sites. BetGoodwin was founded by Julian Head, the patriarch of the family that controls Bet Ahoy and BetTom. In a way, that makes BetGoodwin the flagship of this unofficial sister sites family – it belongs to the man who sits at the head of the table, and it’s the oldest and biggest of the brands on it. Historically, BetGoodwin has always been known as a racing fan’s paradise, focusing on horses at the expense of almost everything else. More recent years have seen the old-school bookie take steps into the modern world, not least by adding an exciting casino section and increasing the level of interest it takes in other sports. It’s easily as good as any other big-name bookie serving players in the UK.
36Vegas
This is where the connection gets a little weaker. 36Vegas isn’t owned by the Head family, so it’s outside the directly-linked Bet Ahoy sister sites (if it’s even fair to call them that). What connects 36Vegas to the other brands on this shortlist is the software platform that it uses. Specifically, it’s the EveryMatrix platform, which is considered a very solid and dependable option for new iGaming websites even if it’s not quite as popular as it once was. 36Vegas uses both the OddsMatrix sportsbook that it provides and the CasinoEngine casino template, so it’s really just an EveryMatrix skin with a logo attached to it. You can probably tell from the name that 36Vegas is more of a traditional online casino than it is a sports betting specialist, so it’s the odd one out in the family, but the connection is still there even if it’s tenuous.
FitzBet
None of the brands in the Bet Ahoy sister sites family are exactly old (BetGoodwin might be getting there, but we digress), but FitzBet is the Johnny-come-lately of the group, having launched mere weeks before the arrival of Bet Ahoy. This is another EveryMatrix sports betting brand, so it’s like 36Vegas in that the connection here is softer than it is with BetTom or BetGoodwin. It’s another very traditional sports-focused brand, and it’s also another brand in the midst of an identity crisis. While FitzBet is the name in the logo and in the URL, it also goes by Fitzwilliam Bet and Fitzwilliam Sports, which makes us think it should probably have settled on a name before it launched. The odds at FitzBet are unique to the brand, which is a plus, but the lack of clarity over the withdrawal process is a concern for us.

Bet Ahoy landed with a splash (maritime pun intended) as a hot new betting brand in 2026, but if you’ve read our guide to the Bet Ahoy sister sites above, you’ll know that it’s not really as new as it appears to be. While the logo and branding are new to the marketplace, the family behind Bet Ahoy has been active in the UK sports betting world for years, having given us BetGoodwin and BetTom in the past. That’s some serious expertise and experience in the boardroom, and it ought to mean that Bet Ahoy is better than your average new challenger brand is, so is it? Let’s see.
Bet Ahoy Welcome Bonuses
There are bigger sports betting welcome bonuses out there than the one Bet Ahoy has ponied up, but it’s still a serviceable one. Join the site and bet £10 on any event with odds of evens or better to get two £5 free bets, awarded immediately after your qualifying bet settles. The qualifying bet must be placed within seven days of registering an account in order to be considered valid. Bet Ahoy is mostly about sports betting, but there’s still a separate welcome bonus if you want to use the casino instead. Other Promotions
There’s a tab option for Tournaments at the top of the Bet Ahoy homepage, but there were no tournaments running on the day we wrote this review. We don’t know if that was just poor timing, just that Bet Ahoy is still very new and hasn’t had the chance to get any tournaments up and running yet. In terms of other ongoing promotions, Bet Ahoy offers a best odds guarantee, a “sub switch” system for football betting that sees bets on individual players carried over to the substitute that replaces them, and a first past the post guarantee on horse racing. These are all niceties, but there’s nothing special or even unusual about them – we’d expect any decent bookie to cover these bases.
What are the Pros and Cons of Bet Ahoy?
Pros: The Bet Ahoy brand comes with the backing of a family that’s done great things in the UK sports betting market. Same-day withdrawals are available unless further verification is required. Market coverage is strong, and the depth of the casino is excellent.
Cons: No phone number for customer support. A surprisingly small welcome bonus for sports bettors. The tournaments section of the site doesn’t appear to be up and running yet. No stand-out or ‘wow’ factors.

First and foremost, sports betting is the main event at Bet Ahoy, and you’re largely missing the point if you come to it looking for anything else. Like its sister sites, it’s a very traditional bookie, and offers highlighted odds on horse racing and greyhound racing before showing you any other categories. The sportsbook as a whole is more modern than that description might have made it sound, though, and covers virtual sports alongside all of your usual staples like football, tennis, boxing, cricket, rugby and the rest. You can even bet on chess if you’re the kind of dedicated thrill-seeker who watches it regularly.
If you really do want to stick to the casino, you’ll find that almost all of the spotlight space on the Bet Ahoy Casino landing page has been given to entries from the Big Bass series. We counted Big Bass Splash, Big Bass Bonanza, Big Bass Vegas: Double Down Deluxe, Big Bass: Secrets of the Golden Lake, Bigger Bass Splash and Big Bass Bonanza: Megaways on the top two rows, and even some of the slots that weren’t directly connected to the famous series were still fishing themed, including Fishin’ Frenzy The Big Catch: Gold Spins. All of this is, of course, a good fit for the site’s nautical branding.
Withdrawal Options and Speed
Bet Ahoy doesn’t tell as much as we’d like it to on this front (there’s no Payments page, for example), but it still manages to tell us enough. The logos in the footer of its website include those of Mastercard, Visa, Trust Payments, and pretty much every major British high street bank, so all of your basics are covered even if there doesn’t appear to be any support for e-wallets. The full Bet Ahoy terms and conditions state that withdrawals are usually processed and funded on the same day they’re asked for unless the request triggers a review or verification request.
Customer Support and License
Support at Bet Ahoy is primarily provided via live chat, albeit with a bot before you’re put through to a person if the bot can’t help. If you want to avoid dancing with the bot, you can email support@betahoy.co.uk instead. Sadly, there isn’t a telephone number to call. The UK Gambling Commission licence that covers BetAhoy Ltd is held under account number 100094, and is clean as of the time of writing. Given that it was only issued in December 2025, it would be shocking if it wasn’t. While the licence could theoretically be extended to cover any future Bet Ahoy sister sites, it seems that the family behind the brand prefers to keep its betting products separate, so we don’t expect any to appear.
Bet Ahoy – The Verdict
This is another competently-made betting and casino brand from a family that’s proven beyond all doubt that it knows what it’s doing in the UK market. The same-day withdrawal promise is the only thing that elevates it above the average site of its kind, though. The sports betting welcome promotion isn’t big enough to be a real temptation, and there aren’t any unique features here that you won’t find at dozens of other bookies. Think of it as another solid and reliable option for placing your bets rather than something that you need to go out of your way to see.
